Can Form URL query string pre-populate all types of fields?

Hi,

I have read so many different tickets and learning articles about using a form URL query string to pre-populate values on a form. However, I can't get it to work and I don't know what I did wrong.

This is the form I am trying to link to and it's the first field that I am trying to pre-populate using the query string. The first field is Request Type and it's a drop-down field and right now we have have a list of names populated in there.

I would expect, by clicking this link above, the first field would be pre-populated with a value "Jamie". I can't get this to work.

I also tried this URL with the text box field and a text field. None of them was pre-populated.

Can someone please help me out?

Strange! It looks correct and works for me in my example.

Have you double-check the Request Type column name?

I'd be happy to take a quick look.

Can you maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s)? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

Thank you for responding to my post. Here is the screenshot of the Request Type column. Are you able to tell what's wrong?

Hi @JenniferW100,

Not sure if you have solved this yet, but I only just came across your post will looking for something else.

It is possible that if you have changed the Label of the column in the form setup, the URL string query is expecting the new text to describe that field.

For Example:

Sheet column name = "Request Type"

Form column label = "Service Request Type"

Then URL query string should be: [formURL]?Service%20Request%20Type=Jamie
