Vlookup with Another Sheet

I have a sheet where I have two columns I would like to automatically populate based on the "job Code" column I have entered.

In Excel, I used vlookup for the list of Job Codes to reference. I have uploaded those to a new sheet- how can I set up my vlookup to return the values I need? I keep getting and Unparseable error.

EX: I have Job Code A3063, I want to use this value to look up the corresponding role type and position level from a different sheet and populate that into my current tracker. What is the easiest way to do this?

Try something like this. (I'd recommend using INDEX/MATCH instead)

=INDEX({ColumnWithTheValueYouWantToShow}, MATCH(CellThatHaveTheValueToMatch@row, 
{ColumnWithTheValueToMatchAgainsTheCell}, 0))

Here's a similar explanation for a VLOOKUP.

=VLOOKUP(CellThatHaveTheValueToMatch@row, {RangeThatHaveTheValueToMatch*}, 
ColumnNumberWithTheValueYouWantToShow, 0)

*Where the first column is the ColumnWithTheValueToMatchAgainsTheCell

Thanks for this clarification, the index/match worked much better than the Vlookup for this case.
