Update Automation not running correctly

Hello,

I have some simple update automations on a project that we are having trouble running properly. The update request is set to send out a request for update to both a Supervisor column and a corresponding Senior Supervisor column so that if the supervisor is not here that day, their senior supervisor can fill in and update the request.

The issue we are running into is that on some, both the supervisor and the senior will get the request, but a few will only go to the senior. I have checked the contacts and no issues there, and all are the same permission level.

Another issue is that if the supervisor opens the link, the senior can no longer open it. Is there a way to turn that off?

Hope you are fine, this is a rule in smartsheet for all type of workflow that need update ( Approval - Update Request ) if any one open the link even the same user who open it will not be able to open it again.

for your case i suggest the following solution:

you can create a workflow for each one of your Supervisor and add in the sent fields with this update request 2 system fields ( Modified by - modify date ) so each one will receive a copy of the update request and you can monitor the update done by each one.
