Formula to measure moving averages
Hi there. I’m trying to find out if I can use a formula to calculate the average project time for the last 10 projects of a specific category.
I have a sheet that is collecting project data which includes the category and the total time spent. What i need to do is calculate the average total time spent for the last 10 projects of a specific category.
any help gratefully received

I hope you're well and safe!
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

@Andrée Starå - thanks for responding. To explain in some more detail. i have a sheet where i am collecting key bits of information regarding a program of projects that im managing. This includes the project type, the project go live date, the project total duration and of course the project name.
I would like to measure the average duration for each type of project type (basic, standard and advanced) but i only want to measure the last 10 projects based on the go live dates. I have created a mock up of the sheet and have shared this with you
thanks

Glad we got it working!
Here's the formula for everyone.
=AVG(COLLECT([Total Project hours]:[Total Project hours], [Project type]:[Project type], "Basic", ID:ID, >(INDEX(MAX(ID:ID), 1) - 10)))
