Cannot delete files from reports

We regularly delete files from the attachment column, a very important function of our process. As of today, it stopped working and the "Delete" function is grayed out. See attached.

We can only delete from the sheet which is only a temporary workaround and not everyone

has access to the sheet.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue and does anyone know how to fix it?

    I can't see in your screenshot, but did you check to make sure the box was checked for that attachment to indicate which attachment you wanted to take action on?

    Thanks Paul. Yes, we checked the box. We do this daily, so this new twist is baffling. Are your deletion options grayed out in reports?

    I have access to all options. And sharing permissions haven't been changed? You have confirmed that even though you can't delete from the report you can DEFINITELY delete that same exact one from the sheet directly?

  • We are having the same issue in that we can DEFINITELY delete attachments from the Sheet but no longer from Reports. The "Delete Selected Attachment" option along with other options such as "Upload New Version" are grayed out on reports.

  • Can't help, but experiencing the same issue and had come here to see if I could find a solution.

    We work in card view, and normally can delete attachments on a particular card if needed. Today, when I open the card and then click Attachments and select an attached file, the trash can remains grayed out and in the actions box "Delete Selected Attachment" is unclickable.

    Hoping there is a fix to this problem soon!

    Paul, I was out part of Friday, and the answer to your question is yes. It looks others are having the same issue.

    Does anyone from Smartsheet Corp monitor these discussions and can explain what has happened? We all need a fix to this issue ASAP please!

    I would suggest reaching out to support. I have reached out to a few others that I know and none of them are experiencing this issue, but apparently some others are.

    I checked with Support and they're currently investigating the described issue here, where users shared to a Report (and underlying sheets) can only delete their own attachments in a Report, even if they have Admin permissions or higher on both items.

    At this point the issue is still under investigation, so it's good that you reported this to Support as well, thank you!

    We are having the same issue at my company this week as well. Like others, hopped on here to look for a solution. Jumping in here to hopefully hear if this gets resolved.

    I can confirm that this is a bug we're working on, but I don't have an ETA yet for when this will be resolved. In the meantime, you should be able to delete the attachments other users have uploaded from the underlying source sheet.

    @Genevieve P. It is good to know this is a bug that is being investigated. We look forward to a fix ASAP as the workaround is cumbersome and adds extra time on a daily basis.

    @Genevieve P. Our team is now able to delete attachments from our reports. Already saving time from having to go to the sheet for the same process!
