Prepopulate a form field (Dropdown contact list) via a link to the form
A form is made available to users via a link. The users are in a contact list drop down field on the form. Is it possible to pre-populate the field (contact list drop down) with the users contact list info when the user clicks on the form link?
Is it necessary to require the user to login to smartsheet to accomplish this?

Thanks Andree,
So they would log into smartsheet to access the form link. I would then capture the submitted info in the Created By column which could then populate the field?
Thanks again for the help,

Hi @julieg
I hope you're well and safe!
Try something like this.
YourFormLinkHere?ContactListColumn=TheEmailAddressThatYouWant
My example would look like this.
https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/6faff2f3ea0a4d1bb0c306a3a4078c?ContactList=andree@workbold.com
Also, no, the user doesn't have to be logged in.
Make sense?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

Hi Andree,
Thank you for the prompt response.
Are you saying that i need to add the specific user email address "contact list" to the link? I was hoping that clicking on the link would automatically cause the user to be identified and the contact would be added to the link which then populates the field on the form.

Happy to help!
Either the email has to be added to the link before, or they would need to log in, and then you can collect the submitted in the Created By column in the sheet.
Make sense?

You're more than welcome!
You'd change the settings in the form that they need to be logged in to access it, and then you can share the standard form link or embed it in a dashboard. Then as long as you've added the Created By column, the submitter's information will be stored.
More info.
