Column formula from a template not allowing me to edit
I downloaded a Smartsheet template and am now listed as the owner, however it is not allowing me to edit a column formula. The column isn't locked, but the formula is somehow.

Hi @Shannon23
I'm glad you were able to find an answer!
For anyone else having the same problem, to edit a Column Formula, you will need to right-click on a cell in that column for the option to appear in the drop-down menu. More information can be found in our Help Center, here: Set Formulas for All Rows with Column Formulas

Frustrating when someone asks what seems to be the exact question I have and then says nevermind. I have a template that I downloaded and there is a column formula calculating a percentage. When I right click on any cell in the column, I get a dropdown menu, but no option to edit the formula. "Convert to Column Formula" is greyed out.

Hi @JWMorgan77
Can you post what formula is in that column?
It sounds like that specific formula may have a row reference in it (e.g. [Column Name]1 instead of [Column Name]@row)
Here's more information on what makes a formula eligible for a column formula.
Cheers,
Genevieve

Thank you for your response. I am new at Smartsheets and found that the columns were controlled by Project Settings where start date, end date and Duration are setup.
