Dynamic Approver Contact Workflow

I've have a workflow that requires two different approvers depending on the input from a form. I can automate who the approvers should be and capture their emails in the sheet, but can't work out how to get the workflow automation to send the approval email to those specific dynamic individuals.

Can someone help me with this please? Thanks

This means that you do not have any valid contact type columns available. Have you ensured that the column you are wanting to use is in fact set as a contact type column?

This is one part of the approval workflow. At the moment, I'm using 'Katie' too forward to the required approver. Ideally, the specific person would be the dynamic element.

Have you clicked on where it says to send to specific people, changed it to "contacts in a cell" and then selected the appropriate contact column?

Maybe I'm missing something, but when I try and select that option it is just blank?

Unfortunately, that has not worked. I've been testing it with different users and SmartSheets are not automatically sending out the approval email despite having their email being tagged as a valid contact type. Thoughts?

Have you tried setting up two separate automations? One for approved and one for declined? This will allow us to further narrow down the issue.

I've just tried that and seems to work now. Not sure why it was not working before as it has the same logic...?

I am not sure either. I honestly haven't used the feature to "chain" alerts/notifications together simply because I got so used to creating separate ones anyway before that feature was released. I personally find separate automations to be easier to troubleshoot and manage, but again... I come from the time before that feature was released. Haha.
