    Hi @GGR

If you have weekends set as working days in your Project Settings, then you'll need to either add on extra days to account for weekend days in your task, or you can split the task into multiple rows and only include week day working days (ex. Week 1 would be a row from Monday - Friday, Week 2 would be another row that starts on Monday again, and is linked to Week 1 as a predecessor with +2 lag days). Does that make sense?

The alternative would be to set the work week to be Monday to Friday and then use Elapsed Time for the specific tasks that work over weekends (see: Project Sheet Columns: Start Date, End Date, Duration, % Complete and Predecessors)

    Cheers,

I asked about duration instead of two rows with dates. I know weekends can be included with "e" but why can't it be excluded in the same way

  • Hi @GGR

There currently isn't a function in Smartsheet's Project sheets that can exclude weekend days from one specific row when you have weekend days set as a Working Day in the Project Settings (there is no opposite to Elapsed Time).

If you know those two weekend dates should be excluded from the duration of any task in the whole sheet, then you could set them as Holiday Dates in Project Settings.

Please let the Product team know about your feature request by filling in this form, here.

    Cheers,

  • I hope your team is working on this, because if you offer such a product with gantt, you need to listen to what users need and agree, this is a very important thing.
