Does anyone happen to know when The API will be set-up to enable connection between Smartsheet and SharePoint 0365?

I can't speak to Sharepoint, but you're welcome to use the public Smartsheet API to connect with any program/integration as long as that program allows it. See: Where to Find Information About the Smartsheet API

It looks like Power Automate has a couple of flows (see here) you could potentially leverage as well.
