Any way to restore cross-sheet references?

I suspect the answer will be what it always is: "no you can't do that but you can submit an enhancement request" but I'm going to ask in the desperate hope I might be wrong...

How can I see what named ranges apply to a sheet? I am attempting to reference another sheet in a countif formula, and when I go to rename the referenced range (don't even get me started on how angry the automatic naming of ranges / inability to see what they refer to makes me), but I keep getting an error that the name I want use has already being used on a range in that sheet.

How can I find out what this other range is?

Is there a name manager?

Can I remove a named range?

How can I select a previously named range to use again?

This does provide the info I was looking for, but it doesn't seem very user friendly... I cannot see the full name of the range and it doesn't seem to be possible to resize the columns.

The only way to see the full reference name seems to be to select a reference and chose to "edit reference".

But if it's not the reference you wanted, it doesn't seem to be possible to get back to the list, it just kicks you back out to the main sheet, and you have to go in and open the reference manager again, which - if you have a large number of references - makes it really hard to keep track of which ones you've already looked at and which you haven't.

Am I missing something here?
