What are the 'Order' options for RANKEQ and RANKAVG?
Hey,
I could likely come up with this if I sat down and experimented with the formulas for a while, but I really feel like they should be listed somewhere and better documented and I'm really hoping someone else has already done the legwork. I don't even know if 'order' serves the same purpose in both formulas.
- RANKAVG says "order—[optional] The arrangement to use to evaluate the range"
- RANKEQ says "order—[optional] The method to evaluate the range"
What are the possible values?
What are their impacts?
What is the default if no order is declared?

Hi @P_Youderian
Great question! This is specified in the functions when you're typing them into the sheet, but you're right, the Help Articles don't have this detail written out. I've submitted feedback on these articles so we will update them in the future.
- The values are either 0 or 1.
- 0 is descending order.
- 1 is ascending order.
- 0 is the default.
Cheers,
Genevieve
