Need help looking up a value within the same column and returning the field next to it
I'm trying to find a formula that would return the final decision, Approved or Denied, if the new entry was previously submitted. If a new entry is made where that email address was previously submitted, I would like for the final decision that was previously entered to automatically be copied into a cell. If the new entry is an email address that was not previously submitted, the cell would be left blank. I have tried a VLOOKUP but not finding the right formula to get the right return. Any help would be appreciated.
Example: test.account@final.com = Approved, test.accounts@final.com = Denied, test.account1@final.com = blank.
Hoping this can be a column formula where the new entries will run against the previous entries in the same column. Is this possible?

Create two column, ADDRESS and DECISION. You know what goes in those fields.
In a third column, put this:
=INDEX(ADDRESS:DECISION, MATCH(ADDRESS@row, ADDRESS:ADDRESS, 0), 2)
