Help with counting formula

I am trying to count from two different sheets for reporting. In the COUNTIFS function, how can I specify a count from one column on one sheet as well as a column from another sheet?

    Hi @Jim Locke

    I hope you're well and safe!

    You'd add two different cross-sheet formulas and add them together with +.

    Make sense?

    Did that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

    Be safe and have a fantastic week!

  • Thank you @Andrée Starå , I'm actually looking for the context to put in the formula itself. With a single sheet you can just reference the column you are counting in, but if I am referencing columns in a different sheet, how does it look in the formula? for example, I want to count in the columns "Total sales calls" on the sheet "Sheet A" and add the count in the column "Total customer inquiries" on sheet "Sheet B". I am guessing something like =COUNTIFS([Sheet A, Total sales calls]:[Sheet A, Total sales calls], <> 0) + COUNTIFS([Sheet B, Total customer inquiries]:[Sheet B, total customer inquiries] <> 0)

    @Jim Locke

    Happy to help!

    It would look something like this. (you'd have to create the cross-sheet ranges)

    =
    COUNTIFS({Sheet A, Total sales calls}, <>"") +
    COUNTIFS({Sheet B, Total sales calls}, <>"")

    Did that work/help?
