Include Sheet URL on Copy Row Automation

Scenario: multiple individual sheets copy a single row to another sheet based on a trigger.

Is it possible to include the Originating Sheet URL when rows are copied to a different sheet?

• You could add a Sheet Summary field with the Sheet URL
• Add a so-called helper column
• Reference the Summary Sheet field
• Convert it to a column formula

Unless I am mistaken, all of those suggestions, while helpful, are manual entry of the URL.

I tried this morning to get the URL from a report, which has the link, but it does not export it to Excel. I need to match it up to a report.

Yes, you're correct. They are manual. The only possible way to get it automatically would be to use the Smartsheet API or a 3rd-party integration.

Is that an option?

The API might be an option but I would need crash course on how to do that.

In short term, I will have it send notification with link and data and try to smash that into a report.

Also can use Has Smartsheet/Missing Smartsheet based on returned data without a direct link but link would be so much more helpful.

How many sheets are we talking about?

This will happen once per sheet and quantity of sheets created is dependent upon seasonal busy periods but could be from 0-20 per day. Avg maybe 5/day.

I would roll this info into a weekly report done in Excel (master data comes from a different system).

I can have the sheet creators manually add the URL and will discuss that with them, however, they already do a lot of work to setup the sheet and I hesitate to add more tasks.
