How do I write a formula to flag an item when it is 40 days past the Start Date.

I have a Planned Start Date and added a 40 Post Start column where I would like either a Flag on or Yes would also work. Can't seem to get the syntax right!

=IF([Planned Start Date]@row >= TODAY(40), 1)

I thought that worked but it seems to be just flagging 40 days current day. What I need is flagging 40 days from the Planned Start day no matter what day it is. If start date is Mar 1, the flag would be yes on Apr 9 no matter what day it is that I look at it.
