Need to remove characters from a text string that appear after >

I have a column of data that some fields include extraneous data after the symbol ">" that I need to write a formula to remove. As an example, "ACCENTURE LLP>9I" should read as "ACCENTURE LLP" - what is the formula to remove the ">9I"?
