I have a solution that is tracking an hourly rate per individual and it is then used in a formula. I want to update the rate but not impact the lines that use that older value. How do I achieve this?

Here is the rate card

I then use this formula on each project invoicing sheet to determine how much is owed to that person for the hours they worked that week:

=VLOOKUP(Contact@row, {IC Rate Sheet Range 1}, 2, false) * Hours@row

That's tricky, and probably the most straightforward method would be to copy cells with the old rate and paste them to be permanent, or if you have a date column or something that could be used to determine if it should be an old or new rate. You'd then need to update the structure to include multiple rates in your rate sheet for now and in the future.

Sometimes in my client solutions, I include a rate sheet with each project that references a master rate sheet for multiple years, and then it can be overridden on a project by project basis as needed
