Overwrite rows if duplicate
Hi,
Is there a way to override rows on my sheet if there is a duplicate row ID on that sheet?
Example: on sheet 1 when a certain column is filled out it triggers that row to copy to sheet 2, however this trigger row can be changed, and every time someone changes it, it copies the row again to sheet 2 with the changes. Is there any way that if the same row ID is already on sheet 2, can the row with the new changes on sheet 1 that is moving to sheet 2 just override the row in sheet 2 with the change?

Hi Leeba,
There are a few steps to doing something like this, and it may involve even a third sheet. When the row is copied to sheet 2, you can use a Count column, with a Created date or ID in order to determine which was the latest.
That will not automatically remove the duplicates however, so you may want to set up an automation that then moves either the row you are keeping to the final destination, or move off the duplicates to a storage sheet.
Here are a few discussions that others have provided the support on this for that helped me and provided the full outline. If you need more help and this doesn't clear it up, I'm happy to help more, will just need a bit more time to work on the full process.
