In short you'll need to establish baseline budget and schedule columns and have those auto-calculate progress as time elapses. This drives your EVM metrics and forecasts as you apply updates to your schedule in terms of progress, effort worked, and current timelines. You will need to ensure that your parent tasks are rolling up the effort correctly to avoid bad '% planned complete' results. Every EVM metric is derived from the result of comparing the below columns.
