To get the duration you can either use
=[End Date]@row - [Start Date]@row
to get the total number of days,
or you can use
=NETWORKDAYS([Start Date]@row, [End Date]@row)
to get the number of working days.

I am trying to use date formula, I have start date , end date. Want to reflect the gap between two in Duration column

If you right-click on a cell you can select something like Edit Column Formula to see the formula.

You know that SmartSheet does that for you, right? If you activate a Gantt chart and dependencies, a column called Duration will be used for that purpose. No programming necessary on your part.
