Sum time to total Hrs for report

Am looking to total our [task time] in manufacturing. Tasks are allocated a start date and end date with the WH manager changing the duration per current Smartsheet options i.e.; 1h or 1h 30m or 5m or 1.5d.

How can I total the hours for a monthly report, we work on an 8Hr day.? Have seen many threads some come close others just not what I need.

Cheers.

You are going to have a hard time tracking tasks that are less than 1 day in Smartsheet using dependencies. The duration column that is built into Dependencies will calculate hours & minutes, but it will only display it summarized as days.

My recommendation would be to either deactivate dependencies or create a separate task time column that breaks all tasks down to amount of hours needed to complete. For example: 1.5d = 12 hours, 3d = 24 hours. Tasks that are less than 30 minutes (.5 hours) I would recommend not tracking in Smartsheets or roll them into a larger task.

Thanks for getting back. I thought the same and did as you suggested so now we record task time in minutes only, I then convert the total to Hours for the month.

    Cheers.
