Power Automate to Smartsheet - error on checkbox value

Hi all!

I am using Power Automate to insert a row into a sheet. The sheet contains a checkbox field ( I have removed the 'Restrict to checkbox use only').

Upon insert I get this error:

The value for cell in column 8850556387125124, True, did not conform to the strict requirements for type CHECKBOX.

Am I missing something? Can we not pass a value to a checkbox field?

*I have also tried passing 1 for checked and it fails with the same error.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

@ampierce should be true (lower case t)

@Leibel Shuchat In my workflow, I do set it to "true", but it changes it to "True" somehow in passing.

is the vAgree a Boolean variable?

@Leibel Shuchat Yes, it is a boolean variable. I had read another article to try that instead of passing a string value. I've tried both with no success. I have also tried just defaulting in the value via the Insert as "true" to see if that would work and it fails with the same error.

How are you creating the row in smartsheet?

@Leibel Shuchat I'm using Power Automate with a Smartsheet connector that Inserts the row. If I leave that field blank the insert works perfectly. Its only when I try to map the value in for that checkbox field that I receive the error.

that seems to happen, I would change to a regular field and just pass in 'Yes' or 'No'

@Leibel Shuchat I wish that worked... when I put in the value Yes just to test it gives the same error:

The value for cell in column 8850556387125124, Yes, did not conform to the strict requirements for type CHECKBOX.

I was suggesting to change the actual column to a regular text column or dropdown column and just use the values yes/no

ah, I see. Unfortunately that is not an option the customer is ok with.

So, we have to figure out how to make this work. But thank you for the time you've spent on this thus far!
