Update sheet reference when copying sheet to new workspace
Hello,
I created a template PMO workspace with sheets cross referencing each other at the project level. When I add a project and copy the sheets from the template to the new project, I want it to auto update the cross-sheet references with the sheets, that are named the same, in the new project. Is this possible or do I need to manually update all the references?

This is possible. I would recommend adding all of your templates into a folder and each time you need to generate a new project, right click the folder and save it as new. You can also create & generate reports the same way and point them to the template.
If your company is frequently creating projects and want portfolio level views and data then I would look into the Smartsheet Control Center add-on.
