I have a status column with list of 5 items, one of which is "completed" and a Percent Complete column text/number with formatting as a percentage. I have attached the automation, but it never updates the Status to complete when the Percent Complete is 100%

How does the percent complete change to 100%, if it depends on a cross sheet reference and/or a cell link then it will not work (as per Smartsheet's design).

The Percent Complete update by the task owner or myself. It is freeform text field we enter the value. There is no external or internal link to another cell.

How is the Status column being updated for the rest of the options?

Not sure what you are asking. Today the % Complete and Status are manually updated. I would like to create an automation to automatically update the Status field to "Complete with the % Complete is 100%. There are other status in the Status column, not started, in-progress, etc.

Try adjusting your trigger so that it runs when % Complete changes to 1.
