Update Sheet A and Sheet B

Hello

Can somebody please simplify this for me.

A have sheet A, which copies rows to sheet B be when a checkbox is checked.

Sheet B is for the Call Centre (collaborators)

I want any action in sheet A to be automatically updated in sheet B

As you might know, copied columns are placed at the bottom of the destination sheet, and not all rows are copied to the destination sheet, therefore the rows in A and B are different although they bear the same Customer Reference Number.

My head says it is impossible. But I trust this community to find a way or to tell me the best way to get sheet A and B to harmonise.

You don't say which version of Smartsheet you are on. If available to your installation, I would use something like DataMesh for this.

You could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.

I'll go an try the functions you mentioned. I'm sure I'm going to come back here weeping some more. Functions and Formulas have never been friendly to me :-)

I'm back already, I searched for help on usage of above recommended functions but alas, I guess my head is not configured to understand without step by step examples. So let's see if you can guide me with this information:

Source Sheet (A)

When "Report Sent" is checked - copies to (B) - copied rows are placed at the bottom of B

Destination Sheet (B)

So let's say I uncheck Report Sent in A....please give example how to automatically uncheck same in B

Pro Plan is the basic, there is also business, and enterprise. Then there is Smartsheet Advanced...with Silver/Gold/Platinum. I'm not on their sales team --- if you have it in Pro you will see it in your menu.

It would do all the lookups for you...it uses a wizard config. Smartsheet DataMesh provides lookup functionality between sheets and facilitates data consistency.

With Smartsheet Data Mesh you can:

Automatically find and remove duplicates

Create links between sheets based on lookup values that you specify

Automatically populate empty cells in one sheet based on a known lookup value in one or more sheets (for example, if you have a source sheet that contains phone numbers for a list of people, you could use data mesh to update a different sheet with those same phone numbers)

Thank you for the information. Datamesh sounds wonderful.

I checked the Pro Plan Menu and searched for Datamesh, seems it is an additional feature (it does not say upgrade) and requires me to contact Smartsheet Support/Sales.

If I'm not mistaken, you'd have to upgrade to Business or Enterprise to be able to add DataMesh.

Is that an option?

Like I indicated, it does not say upgrade. Maybe they replaced the word upgrade with Contact Us :-)

In the meantime, can you assist with the step by step for the Vlookup or Index/Match solution?
