Formula to Count Children
I have a column with quite a few children, for example:
parent
Children
Children 1
I'm trying to create a formula to count the number of children under the main parent that has "File Loaded". I was looking at the sheet formula examples but could not figure out a solution. I tried =COUNTIF(CHILDREN (CHILDREN ([TASK NAME]:[TASK NAME],"File Loaded")) but was getting #UNPARESABLE.
I am a 3-6month user of Smartsheets so I am still learning. I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks
Reggie

I hope you're well and safe!
You'd use DESCENDANTS instead of CHILDREN.
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

hi Andree,
I attempted your suggestion but was still getting #UNPARSEABLE.
Here is what I tried - =COUNTIF (CHILDREN (DESCENDANTS([Task Name]:[Task Name],"File Loaded"))

Try this.
=COUNTIF(DESCENDANTS([Task Name]:[Task Name],"File Loaded")
Did that work?

Unfortunately still didn't work for me as I'm still seeing #unparseable. Just to visually show you what I'm trying to get to, the count of "File Loaded".
