IF Statement Help

I'm trying to create a formula that looks at the [New Cost*]" column and if it's blank to leave it blank but it its not blank then I want it to run this calculation and return the number :[New Cost*]@row - [*Original Cost]@row) * [*Qty.]@row

I'm new to formulas and can't quite figure it out

A little bit of syntax issues. Give this a try:

=IF([New Cost*]@row <> "", [New Cost*]@row - [*Original Cost]@row) * [*Qty.]@row)
