If you have access to the premier app DataShuttle, you may be able to use offload data from smartsheet to sharepoint excel. DataShuttle will run on a schedule (not a trigger). The data exported can be filtered to meet conditions. If this option is available to you, it will be very straight forward to set up and the community is available to answer any questions. If available, try this first.

I recently did this. I have an excel sheet that automatically connects and pull data from a smartsheet. If this is what you need message me.
