When Phases are Changed, Capture the Date:Workflow is not possible because the column contains links

We have created one more test case.

The sheet contains an AppliedPRO column in which these cells are linked to their respective individual projects. When the user changes the phase (Initiate, 1st DOE, 2nd DOE, Target Met), our source sheet (master sheet) will update, but I need a record date (capture the date) when the phases changed.

For instance, when the user changed the phase from "blank" to "Initiation". Then we must record the initiation changing date at that time.

Some of you will suggest Record date workflow, but that is not possible. Because cell linking columns will not trigger workflow.

We hope that this scenario is useful to our Smartsheet users.

Note: We are trying to post test cases so that will assist PMs when they encounter similar issues.

Can you use the source sheet to record the date then simply link or index match to get the date populated in this sheet?

Hello @APell , How do you record the date? Using workflow automation? If yes, as I mentioned above, it is not possible due to cell linking in the column.
