PMO TEMPLATE SET, when I copy the project plan the target dates do not update
Whenever I add a new project, I copy the project template and in the intake sheet I enter the target start and end dates. After linking everything per the instructions and I enter into the project plan the target start and end dates update in row 1 but, all of the tasks have dates from back in the year 2020 so my project is instantly red health and showing I am years behind schedule. The start and end date columns auto update as they are supposed to. How do I get the target start and target end dates to auto adjust when I create the new project? Manually going through the entire project is not an option. I can copy the data from the start and end date columns but, that seems like a band aid.

It sounds like the sheet was set up to use the Baseline feature. Try looking into that. If you switch over to Gantt view there should be a button for "Baselines" in the top right toolbar.
