Sub-Report

I am looking for a way to create a sub-report within Smartsheet reports. I currently have a report that shows all the information about jobs I have going to the manufacturing floor. The "M" number under the Primary column is the job number. This is fed from a sheet that hold all the relevant information. I have a second sheet that has issues related to that job number. The common relationship in both sheets is the Job Number. Ideally I would like to show the information below and have the ability to sub-report the issues being fed from the Issues sheet. I come from a PowerBi/PowerApps world so I'm thinking I could expand the job number to get the Sub-report information. In the PowerApps world it would be built with a Nested Galley. Is there a way to do this inside Smartsheet or am I better to pull the data into PowerBi to create the multi-layer report?

    Hi @shippen,

It sounds like you have two sheets (the job master and the issue tracker) that have at least one common column (the one with the job number. I'm not sure whether you've tried already scoping both sheets by the same Report and possibly adding other grouping rules to sort that data.

If this approach would mess up with your current report or the group number would exceed the 3 limit, you may possibly consider creating a separate report for issue tracking purposes.

I hope that this can be of help, if it can't, please include an additional screenshot of this Report showing the Builder bar where the scoped sheets and Grouping rules are also visible.

    Cheers!

    Julio
