CountIf Multiple names in a singe cell

I am looking to count the names in a single cell, with the functions citation being derived from from a list. Is it possible to do this using the countif Function, or similar?

Of Course. The below is a clip of a sheet of names of employees.

Below is the sheet which has a group of names in the far right column. we can call this " Assigned To"

Ok. And what exactly is the expected outcome?

I would like to count the number of employees that are within the cell if there name is on the list. Sometimes there might be a name in the cell that is not on the list, I would not want them counted
