Automation for creating Sub row in same sheet

How can you setup an automation to create a subrow for a row once a condition is met? (such as a checkbox is marked in a row, and that triggers the creation of a sub row to that now parent row)

@Robert Hayman Unfortunately not with the automation workflows on a sheet. You could do this through an API integration. I'm not sure if there are any out of the box solutions right now, but definitely if you wrote a custom script.

Thanks Darren! That is a little beyond my current skill set, but a great suggestion. I inherited an inventory smartsheet and am trying to find a way to have a "history" of each row/item.
