Smartsheet not Auto-Calculating

I have a sheet that I am using for metrics to feed a dashboard. The sheet has formulas to summarize data as needed. The formula is linked to the results sheet for surveys. As new survey feedback is received, the formula in my metrics sheet is not updating. The formula worked initially, pulled necessary data, and populated on my dashboard. Now it's like the formula is static and not changing. I've saved the other sheet, refreshed all smartsheet items, I'm not really sure where to go from here. If I can't get the formula to automatically update, this is all kind of useless. Any help would be awesome!

    Hi @morgan.lang -

What formulas are you using? Some formulas only update when the sheet is accessed (=TODAY() being an example - see more here).

  • HI @PWNA Sam Harwart!

I am using COUNTIFS. I've deleted out the formula and rewritten it and still got the same result - not accounting for the new information. (I saved the results sheet and even closed out of Smartsheet to make sure everything had updated.) I have no idea what is going on. My formula references a column and when I view references, all of the new information is in the display grid. It's just not being accounted for in the formula. Even weirder, the new information has the gray arrow and indicates it's being used in the formaula.

Perhaps your formula is looking at a static range instead of the entire column? Can you share screenshots or the formulas you're using?
