Is there a Formula to calculate amount from a separate row if column checked

I need a formula so once an approved invoice is check that it sums in a column. Is there a way to do that?

in the open balance column once checked.

Try something like this. (update column names as needed)

=SUMIFS([Invoice Amount]:[Invoice Amount], [Approved by David to Invoice]:[Approved by David to Invoice], 1)

No, is it because I have to put the row numbers in?

I did try that and then I receive an error #INCORRECT ARGUMENT SET

Just jumping in here (hope that's OK @Andrée Starå!)

You're missing the criteria part of the formula. You have the checkbox column listed, but you're not telling the formula what to look for within that column.

Notice how Andrée's formula has a 1 at the end? This tells the formula to look for a checked box, or 1.

Try adding a comma after your last, pink reference and then adding 1.
