The grouping and summary feature is great and in some circumstances may replace the need to create some sheet summary fields. However, in absence of being able to use as a metric on a dashboard, unfortunately this duplication may still be required.

The goal I'm working towards is a simple reporting dashboard that summarizes a lot of data.
The source data I'm working with a pretty full of extra stuff, so I use the power of reports to quickly parse the data I need, then summarize it to a top-line summed value.
I'd like to be able to post JUST that summarised data as a single value Metric "Widget" on our dashboard.
Currently, the Metric widget only can access sheet summary data. In practice, I could write a sheet summary formula to achieve the same result...but that's much harder and less transparent than a simple report. In this way, both the report, with all the details, and line-by-line summed values are available to parse, but the top-line result is posted on our dashboard.
I think this is the same as my issue. I have created a summary report based on the sheet summaries of multiple sheets. It doesn't seem possible to add a widget to reference a summary report.
I'm on the same train of thought but with the added complexity of wanting to place only the values that are relevant for the current week/month of the year. I'd like to be able to present metric information on a dashboard from a report which is able to be filtered to show the information relevant to a time frame that moves as the days go by. (the time issue has been resolved with the report but the metrics widget doesn't operate off of reports)
This would save so much time and be so helpful. There are a lot of situations where I want to display on a dashboard 1 metric (not an entire chart) from a sheet summary report and it is frustrating that is not an option.
I also would really appreciate this feature! I'm kinda shocked it isn't a thing already!
A report is not available to be a data source for a Metric Widget. I have a report that shows the one figure I want to be displayed on a dashboard.
I cannot convert the report to a sheet and cannot seem to get the report number on my report to the Metric Widget…
Can this functionality be added to use a report for a data source or can someone tell me how I can.
The report is linked to the workspace and so as new sheets are added, my report dynamically gets new data added. Specific links to specific sheets would not work when i add new sheets to the workspace. Can anyone help?
As one of the system admins, it is absurd to me that I cannot view or have access to all of the items created in my organization. We have over 11,000 reports, sheets, and dashboards and I can't see them. I have no visibility to if people are using our plan for their own personal use, or what kind of work is going on unless…
I noticed this the other day and tested Ctrl + M – it does not work. I submit ticket to Smartsheet support – they told me that’s expected behavior because it’s not currently available even though it still shows as keyboard shortcut in the menu🙄 and told me to submit new product idea. Please add this keyboard shortcut to…
Summary of Issue All team members work a standard 7.5‑hour day, but only a portion of that day is allocated for project work (e.g., 25%, 50%, etc.). In Resource Management, however, the system currently interprets allocations as a percentage of the full 7.5 hours, instead of the project‑eligible portion of a person’s day.…
