Hyperlinks to other sheets not showing

Hi Shaine,
I just tried your fix and it did nothing to resolve missing cell data and hyperlinks. I've also tried re-hyperlinking cells back to the proper sheet and within 30 minutes the hyperlink and cell data had been deleted again. I can't spend an hour updating every hyperlink on my company sheets until I know that they won't disappear again.
Can you tell us if, once the issue is finally resolved, we will need to manually re-link all the deleted cells, or will the fix replace the content that was deleted?
Thanks.

As Shaine mentioned, sheets containing inbound links (blue arrow in the cell) are affected. The best way to refresh the affected sheet and fix the issue is by changing a value on the other side of one of those links. You should just need to change one value to trigger the refresh and fix.

Hi Erin,
Sorry I didn't provide enough clarity to my initial post. I updated it to shed some light on the fix.

Morning,
it looks like this has been fixed; my cells were automatically refreshed at 06:55 by one of my users changing a linked cell.
I'm still not sure I understand why hyperlinks to sheets were affected by cell links, but as long as the values don't disappear again I'm satisfied.

Seems to be working for me too.

It has broken again!

We fixed a broken sheet yesterday by deleting cell contents and creating new hyperlinks. That sheet is still working, so far. Today, though, I have a different sheet with hyperlinks that was working yesterday, and today it's full of blank cells. So I have to agree, Janine, the issue is not resolved.

Hi there, just as an FYI we have not received any email notifications about this error at all. We've been signed up and have successfully received system status notifications in the past, but absolutely nothing about this. I'm on a team that is responsible for notifying our whole department when there's issues, as our whole department relies on Smartsheet for various tasks on a daily basis. Just thought I'd let someone know in case there is an error there. Thanks

Hi Jaye—
Our Status emails are only triggered on more wide-spread issues—when one of our services goes completely down or experiences a heavy delay. This is so that we don't inform the entirety of people that have signed up for notifications on an issue that may not affect them directly.
This issue was isolated to only a portion of sheets, and although frustrating, the issue appears to correct itself once anything triggered cell links to refresh (which fixed any hyperlink display issues as well) on the other side of the incorrectly displaying link.

Shaine,
The problem that a we've described is that we have sheets that hyperlink to many other SmartSheets. This is a hyperlink, not a "link to another cell," which is what you seem to be describing. The titles of these other sheets do not change, and therefore there is nothing to "refresh" on the other side.
The only resolution we've found is to delete the contents of every cell and rebuild the sheet. For someone with over a hundred links, as in the example described earlier in this conversation, this is a huge inconvenience. Imagine having an Excel spreadsheet that randomly deleted data. How do we prevent this problem again in the future?

I agree with Wade. One of my sheets has over 2000 cell links and 150+ hyperlinks both connecting to 150+ sheets. Refreshing all these links is just not possible.

I agree that we had no issues with any cell links, because we don't use those for the most part. What was affected for our master sheet was any cell that was linking to another existing sheet, which was quite a large number of them. The only thing that worked for me was double-clicking on the (then blank) cell to open up the "Hyperlink" window, and simply press "OK"/Enter and it reappears. Occasionally the cell would only show the text without the hyperlink, in which case for some reason hitting Backspace (to delete the cell's data) and then undo/ctrl+z and it would reappear with the hyperlink functioning. Didn't really seem to be any way of "refreshing" these without doing all the manual work.
