When a date is entered I need the drop down text in another column to change

I have a dated column titles "date sent" where we enter the date when a proposal is sent.

I have a second "Text/Number column with various dropdown selections (only 1 can be selected, not multiples).

Here what I want to know if i can do:

When a date is entered in the "Date sent" column, I want the drop down in the "Status column" to change to "Sent"
