Automation-approval status not correct

I set up an automation-request approval, but sometimes, after the approver approved, the status will automatically change to "submitted" . It should be "submitted" before the approval, not after.

@Paul Newcome this is happening to 1 of my approval processes. It's a standard approval automation and submitted is not even an option. It's only approved/denied. If approved in the late afternoon/evening, it will automatically revert to submitted at 8 am the next morning. There are no other automations for cell change.

@Darla Brown Are you able to provide some screenshots for context? How do you have your automation set up exactly? Do you have any other approval automations built into the sheet?

I took a deep dive into what has changed on the sheet in the last few weeks - specifically to the structure. Looks like someone deleted "Submitted" as one of the drop down items. It was causing the automation to reverse the approved status. Once I put it back in, it fixed the issue. smh
