I would like to know how to create these colored panels as shown in the Sales Pipeline and Forecast dashboard example on https://www.smartsheet.com/all-about-sales-pipeline-management. I have tried using rich text and title text and metrics and none of them seem to allow for the entire background to be set to a color as shown in this example. Would appreciate any assistance with this.
If you use a metrics widget and the background color of the cell itself is another color, it will fill almost to the border. You would then set the dashboard color to white to hide that border.
To turn background to white, click "Settings" (button to the left of "Share") when the Dashboard (make sure) is in Edit mode.
Default is Gray, Check "White" in the dialog box.
Hi Paul,
Can you explain in more detail your response please.
I have followed what you suggested but the widget title when coloured is noticeably wider that the cell when coloured. Also, I cent see how to shade the text in the cell below the number. See below.
Thanks
Phil
Can you try to repost your screenshot please?
I cant even get the body of the widget to colour now! So frustrating

I am going to re-hash this as it doesn't seem to be solved.
Is this just not an option any longer?
Hi this is still an option. To get the colored background you must go to the cell where the metric is pulling from and there you can change the background color/text color of the cell.
When you go to your dashboard, click on the metric and click "Use cell formatting".
Does anyone know how to create the progress bars shown in the upper right hand corner of the dashboard above? Ex. "15 out of 50 sold" with the progress bar and the "-" symbol?
Thank you!
Hi @Taylor Trail
Yes, it is. Did you get it working?
I hope that helps!

Hi @Erica Hodgdon
You'd use a so-called Master Metric Sheet to collect all the metrics by using cross-sheet formulas and calculate the values to show, but depending on the needs in general, you could also add them to the specific sheet.
Make sense?
Hello, I am trying to create a chart widget in my dashboard, but I keep getting "Selected data cannot be charted. Please select a new range." error. The report I am using is already summarized in numeric value. What is funny is I have report that I created a chart widget in another dashboard, and when I use that same…
I have a picture below for an example of this. I want to create a formula to get counts of items in "Column2", but if "Column4" states "change" I want the "Column2" count to not work and instead count what is it "Column3" in that given row. Column4 can also have several different things in it besides "good" that I want it…
I've done this a million times - create a report, separated by campus with a total $$. Then add it to a dashboard and make a graph. NOTHING is working right now when I try to do this. I get an error that the data cannot be charted. What the what? Help anyone? Is this a issue since they apparently changed something in the…
