Is there a way to do an If/Then formula for obtaining a count if a certain word is typed in a cell so that the count automatically adds one for each time the word is entered?

For the countIF formula, since it uses a range, if new line were continuing to be added to the sheet, would I have to keep updating the range in the formula, or is there a way for this to automatically update?
[Column Name]:[Column Name] is referencing an entire column. It will include new rows. The only time you would need to update a range to account for new rows is if you specified row numbers such as [Column Name]1:[Column Name]5.
