Is there a way to limit how many cards can be dragged into a single lane?

Question

I have a kanban board and want to limit the number of "cards" that can be in the "WIP" lane.

I also have another file where I have ABCD ranked projects, and want to limit how many can be an "A" project.

is there a way to automatically achieve this? I know I can see the sum of the number on top of the lane, but is there a way to physically not allow it? We have multiple groups who filter differently, so may not have the whole picture when "approving" work.

or at the very least, turn your entire lane into a different color or something that pops out at you?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!

My idea was that we could count the rows, and if it's at the limit, we change a value in a card or send an alert.

What do you think?
