When can the update_report api become available?

There is a specific use case in my organization that I need to be able to rename a set of reports automatically. Currently I'm able to do it to sheets and sights in the same folder, however the reports remains manual because this api is not available.

I hope this can become available soon.

If there is any workaround possible (rather than manually) please also share it.

You're correct, the ability to Update Reports to change their names is not currently possible via the Smartsheet API. There isn't an ETA for when this feature may become available, but please let our Product Team know about your feedback by filling in this form, here!

@Lilian T Have you considered something like Selenium? If it's really meaningful to you Selenium would work.

We have considered this for generating and maintaining reports at scale given the limited support for reports in the API.

@JeremiahHorstick The current way we use smartsheet is to use reports to collect data, then display it in sights. If we are going to do reports out of smartsheet, then it will change the whole way we work with smartsheet. If we're using only "sheets" of smartsheet, then it may a lot less sense to keep using it.

@Lilian T Selenium is a headless browser that is a tool for performing mundane tasks that should probable be available in an API. This will allow you to create, update, and change the name of reports.

Hi @Genevieve P Could you please confirm me whether we can create webhook on Reports like we create webhook on Sheets? Since this is a urgent task, i am asking here. Kindly share your thoughts asap. Thanks in advance.

Currently, sheet is the only supported value for the scope attribute in a webhook. However, you can set an array of columns as a subscope if you want to limit the webhook to specific columns.

The only way I know in essence create a Report level webhook is to gather and register webhooks for all of the source sheets of the Report. We then evaluate each of those source sheet webbook callbacks comparing them to the contents of the report.

So many people have been wanting this. This has been a feature request since 2017 (5 years ago). This seems trivial to create. Like a few days. Why has this not been actioned. Seems absurd.
