Include Images in cells through Forms

  • @Director Dan you are correct. There are two issues and appreciate you noticing that and separating them out.

  • Hey @Director Dan

This specific Idea is the second one you mentioned 🙂

If you want to vote on the first idea, having an image IN the form build itself, please feel free to add your vote and voice to this thread: Adding Images in Form Body and Descriptions

  • We are working with large businesses and government to put on procurement matchmaking events and having card view in a report display a photo or logo of a registrant alongside their name and other basic data would be valuable.

Currently it seems form users can only submit an attachment but the attachment does not show an image on the card view, only as a paperclip.

I would like users to be able to upload images (size constrained of course) to a cell so that it will display properly on the public facing report we expect to share with other attendees of the networking event. At the moment the only way to have it display properly is for the Smartsheet account holder to upload it from our login and it can not be submitted through the webform as we'd like.

  • I think this would be value-added as well. Any updates?

  • Allow form responses to be an image in addition to the current dropdown, text, symbols, etc.

YES! If a user select a title of product, using logic the image of the product would appear. Or, an with the description...

  • I vote for this feature Also. We need it for Product development.

  • @Genevieve P. This would be so perfect! I'd love to manage Smartsheet a little bit like an access database. This particular feature would help us a lot with quarantined product

  • Hello people! We are looking to add images to our maintenance report format in PDF from data collected from a form. But we have the barrier that currently in the form we can't add images not as an attachment to be exported in an image field.

Is there a way to perform this action or we can wait to find this improvement in future updates?

  • I was so hoping to find a solution for this. I also want to include images in a form. Specifically, here is the shirt I'm offering, what size would you want? Here is the jacket, what size would you want? Based on above it sounds like images aren't yet available in forms? I'll keep digging….

  • It's really disappointing that five-years after the initial request I can find online for this feature, we still can't collect images via forms, to populate a cell within the row. The most substantive response I've received, after a multi-tiered escalation(?)/collaboration was that 'a workaround hasn't been possible yet, but the dev team is still trying'. I try to optimistically participate in the Enhancement Request threads here, yet 'workarounds' are disappointingly as good as it gets. Not to be cynical, but to state the obvious: consistently leading users to workarounds versus solutions in non-beta, stable releases is the pinnacle of indicating maligned realities. Demonstrably poor architecture and application capabilities, with use-case pitches from the sales teams are maddening. I understand one 'thing' can't be all things, though if after this period of time Smartsheet isn't able to engineer this solution, the exceedingly and often prohibitive limitation this inability of Smartsheet causes in Project Management Inspection, QA-QC, and collaboration scenarios should be made clear in the sales phase. In Program Management, or managing large projects, lacking a way to control securities of a Sheet and capture images in a way that doesn't take days - when inspections can include a couple thousand images that become unwieldy ambiguously named zip files via the only available option to collect them currently - isn't an option when working with client data. Security always prevails - rightfully so, but it's hard to make clients believe the time you'll need to just organize the images. No one accepts that a modern spreadsheet application with native form creation can't manage images. PLEASE shed some light on the priority of this enhancement to Smartsheet, and respectfully the candid truth: will this happen in a foreseeable future. I personally would appreciate knowing if I need to make the case for another software instead of casting doubt on the integrity of my project billing and deliverables due to this albatross. Thank you.
