Are we able to connect QR codes or regularly updated excel pages into smartsheets?

I am trying to find a way to create easier readings. Currently we are using this particular sheet to record readings and number of times something is performed. Has anyone had any experience with using a QR code that can connect to smartsheet? For instance if something is performed then we are able to scan a QR code and it records that it has been scanned in Smartsheets. Or even a way to have an excel sheet regularly populate a smartsheet without having to re-connect the excel sheet every time there is new information? Any help would be appreciated!

What first comes to mind is that you might want to create a form for people to describe what has been done, and then use the static URL of that form to create a QR code to achieve what I think you are going for. You can Google "How do I make a QR Code from a URL" and there's a handful of free viable solutions on that front. That way you can set parameters for what information exactly needs to go into the sheet but still keep the ease of use you seem to be aiming for.

Yes, I do this often in my client solution to track time and other things.

You can use the URL-query feature to pre-populate/code the links and QR codes to open a form and then submit it.
