    Users vs Contacts - how to identify

    Hi there! Is there a way to tell if someone is a Smartsheet user vs just a contact? Does the circle always appear if you have the column set to Contacts? 😁

      Hi @DesireeM

      Click on the cell drop down, a larger list of the column contents reveal, you will see a contacts icon. Click it and select (smartsheet account name) Users. Everyone gets their initials in a circle although I've never understood the colour selection for them.

      @Jason P just to clarify that it's as simple as I think you are saying…single initial is not a user, double initials is :) you just saved the day if its seriously that's easy. thank you!

      I wish.. but no. By default the contacts box that opens, opens to All Contacts, drop it down and you get My Smartsheet Contacts and finally (your smartsheet account name) Users options.

      Users can update their profile which would change the circle.
