Auto-Populating Fields in Smartsheet Forms Based on User Input

@RSethi This is not possible in the form itself, but it can be set up to work in the sheet once the form has been submitted.

hi
I have a similar project that I am working on. I do understand the concept of cross referencing SHEETS but how can I implement this logic in the user facing FORM ?
for example, I need to create a FORM where the user types in their ID# and I would like their name to auto-populate in the NAME field on the input form.
Is this doable in smartsheet forms?

I was afraid that would be the case 😔

Follow up question: Can I get a bit more guidance on how to update certain columns in the main sheet with data from another sheet?

You can use data mesh for cross referencing. You need to have a source sheet from where you'll pick the data and enter in your target sheet. Select the corresponding fields you want to fetch data from.
