My favorite part of my corner of the world is our stilt houses and islands (and sandbars) in the Gulf of Mexico.

I was lucky enough to grow up at and around the stilt houses where some of my best memories were made. My family owned one of the stilt houses until a hurricane took it out in the early 80's.

Greetings from Colorado! I am looking forward to this year's ENGAGE conference and will be having five colleagues joining me for this year's ENGAGE! This will be my 7th time attending the Smartsheet ENGAGE conference (counting the two years in 2020 & 2021 that were virtual due to COVID). I am thrilled that we have been able to be back to in-person since 2022 as there is nothing quite like that excitement of being together with like-minded people sharing their successes with Smartsheet.

Living in Colorado means getting outdoors often and one of my most favorite places on Earth is in Ouray, Colorado (we call it Little Switzerland). The picture below is Box Cañon Falls (a 285-foot waterfall that plummets into a narrow quartzite canyon) located just south of Ouray.

I also have decided to share with you a picture from my first year attending ENGAGE in Seattle and from last year with all of my wonderful fellow Overachievers who attended in ENGAGE 2023. I am so grateful to be part of this great group of people and am looking forward to ENGAGE 2024!! See you all soon.

Getting ready for Fall, and baskets are filling up fast!

3 years ago, I suffered a near-fatal motorcycle accident on a VERY remote stretch of highway in Nevada. The short of it: I spent 3 hrs in a ditch on the side of the road until I was found by a passing truck driver. 4 hrs later, I made it to Reno via Ambulance where, upon arriving in the trauma ward, my heart went Kaput and I needed to get a little "jump start"<ZAP>. After 2 weeks in ICU, I was told that the chances of my ever walking again were very slim and that I may not fully regain the full use of my left arm and leg. (My back was broken in 2 places, my Pelvis was broken in 3 places, my left lung had punctured and collapsed and the left side of my body was basically crushed) 4 more weeks in the Hospital, followed by another 4 weeks in rehab/physical therapy, I was released to return home to California in a wheelchair. * I call this picture "When the "Good Stuff" kicks in" 😉

Exactly, 1 day shy of the 1 year Anniversary of my little tumble I was standing unassisted on both feet, walking across the room and holding my beautiful wife in my arms as we danced (slowly, of course) around the kitchen.

And on the 3rd Anniversary (Aug 12th of this year), I was back on that horse riding and camping in the mountains of California. I'm still not back to 100% but, I will consider this one a "win". So, enjoy every moment and never pass up a chance to tell those that you love how you feel.
