I would love to see a way for us to be able to "Folder-ize" WorkSpaces that have been shared to us by others. To be able to group those WorkSpaces by the department that it belongs with to make it easier to find and to support. Especially for those of us within our District who are the ones responsible for training and supporting our licensed users and their solutions.
Hi All,
It would be great if we could group workspaces OR be able to share certain Folders in Workspaces with certain people. We need to be able to share certain Folders/ Workspaces with certain people separately. Since we can't share folders separately with seperate people under one workspace, I need to create 20 workspaces for 20 different people. Since I cannot group workspaces in a folder, I have a long list Workspaces now…
Thank you
Hello,
I have sooo many workspaces and it looks so messy… Can we please be able to group Workspaces under a Folder or an Umbrella Workspace? Thank you,
As a Smartsheet partner, it would be helpful to search on or view the organisation that owns the workspace. I get shared to all manner of generically-named workspaces from different clients and some way of distinguishing between them at a glance would be a massive help. Of course, folderisation would allow me to group workspaces by client instead. Anything Smartsheet….. please!?
Same here, we manage hundreds of different departments' workspaces. It's cumbersome to find them even when sorted by department.
This seems like a fairly simple function to create. While I could be wrong, it is certainly something that everyone would love to have if they knew it were an option.
+1
Adding to this same concerns. I have too many Workspaces and really need to have the ability to group them and better organize them as sub-workspaces. Any ideas or addition this functionality would be greatly appreciated.
Below is a link to Smartsheet's solution to this problem, but apparently, it's only available for Enterprise or Premier plans AND on the new subscription pricing model (e.g. Enterprise customers on the legacy collaborator pricing plan don't have access to this). You gotta love private equity investors, always looking out for the customer. 😉
Collections in workspaces overview | Smartsheet Learning Center
The collections certainly look like a very helpful tool, particularly for confidentiality, if we had the appropriate plan level I would implement them immediately!
But I don't see them a a solution for organising existing workspaces.
I want to use the new control center feature "enhanced global update" and it requires for each toolkit to have its own workspace, which will create a lot of them. Because of this I'd like to be able to order them in categories or folders, and being able to collapse or extend them.
My best workaround at the moment is to use a common prefix (CS for Client Success in my case) for all my "usual" workspaces, and have all the control center Workspaces start with a letter further in the Alphabet (I have them starting with SW and RM).
Also came here to request the ability to group workspaces into folders - as admins we are members of too many and it makes finding what you need unnecessarily difficult.
It would be really helpful to be able to create "groups" of workspaces. Having one workspace per project creates a long list of workspaces and there is no way to hide the workspaces of completed projects.
As part of my job, I am given Admin access to a ton of workspaces. It would be extremely beneficial to have the ability to sort these workspaces into high level folders. i.e. Clients, Internal, Product Management Office, etc. Is this something that is in consideration?
Yes I would love to be able to categorize the workspaces as an admin creating them, I see everything. I try to keep things down but the way we provision projects we have to have an IT area workspace for every area. I am now moving to other areas outside of IT and would like 1 overall folder. Ex.) A workspace for all my IT Workspaces.
As a user, this is an extremely important feature. Since permissions are at the workspace level and not at a folder level, a lot of our users end up in multiple workspaces. Without having a way to archive workspaces or arrange finished projects in folders, the list just grows and grows.
Collections are not the answer for most users, they need the ability to create their own organization.
